When in knee ride and your opponent turns on his side, you can enter the cross collar choke while he is on his side. Once you get the first cross collar grip, you can finish the choke even if he flattens his back onto the mat. You can also use the cross collar choke grips to take his back if the first grip is not deep.enough for a choke.
