When the opponent defends your X Pass by countering with arm frames on your upper body, move your lower body closer. When he counters the lower body with his arms, then move closer with the upperbody. This video shows you an example sequence applying this principle with an X Pass using the grips on the opponent's hip and knee. You learn how to transition from encountering frames from one side to side control on the farside. You also learn how to take the back when he turns away from you.
